Explore colorblind photo filters, simulations and color vision activities
Colorblind filter tools help you explore how colors change in a photo, compare a simulation with the original, and try daltonize recoloring. Colorblind Filter & Simulator combines image filters with educational color vision activities for curious learners, families and designers.
COMPARE COLORS IN A STILL IMAGE
Point the camera at a scene and freeze a frame, or select a photo with the system photo picker. Apply the filter to that still image. The live camera preview itself is unfiltered: this is not continuous live-camera recoloring. Use the split comparison to examine the original and transformed image together.
EXPLORE DIFFERENT SIMULATIONS
Choose protan, deutan, tritan or achroma simulation and adjust filter strength from 0 to 100%. Try daltonize recoloring to explore a different separation of similar hues, or inspect the confusion overlay. The reference spectrum helps you compare transformations even before choosing a photo. Filter choices are remembered on the device.
LEARN WITH COLOR ACTIVITIES
Work through 24 generated number plates inspired by Ishihara-style activities, enter the number you see and review the educational result. You can retake the activity and use the suggested filter settings. A D-15-style activity lets you arrange 15 movable color caps, with the arrangement scored using a C-index, an S-index and a confusion angle; it may show an approximate red-, green- or blue-weak pattern or no clear axis. Reset or reshuffle to explore the arrangement again. These are screen-based learning activities, not certified clinical examinations.
EVERYDAY EXPLORATION
Compare a clothing photo, a chart or a design palette to discuss where colors may blend together. Teachers can use the guide to introduce protan, deutan and tritan color vision. Camera color identification displays an approximate color name and HEX value for a sampled area; it is not a calibrated measurement.
QUESTIONS AND LIMITS
Does a filter restore vision? No. It changes an image and cannot guarantee that every user distinguishes every color. Lighting, camera processing and screen settings affect the appearance. Do not rely on the app for electrical wiring, traffic signals or other safety decisions.
Camera use requires camera permission; selecting a photo uses the system picker. The app contains advertising and uses Firebase Analytics and network-loaded ad configuration. Some report-sharing actions involve rewarded advertising.
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Neuigkeiten
• “Filter” now uses the published Machado model in linear light, with shared calculations for photos, the spectrum and colour reading.
• Tap a frozen frame or chosen photo for an approximate colour name and HEX; results depend on the camera and lighting.
• Redesigned “Plates” report red-green or blue-yellow patterns only: a learning activity, not a medical test.
