**Damage numbers.** Every round that hits a zombie throws up the damage it did, floating up off the zombie and fading out. Partial damage (a far shotgun pellet, the medic's pistol) shows to one decimal place. A critical hit pops in bigger, in gold, under a red "CRIT!". Hits landing on one spot at once, like a shotgun blast, stack up instead of overlapping.
