BeatDrum

Notes slide down four lanes and your job is to hit the right pad at the right moment. Hit clean and the beat keeps rolling, each hit a point. Miss and the song punishes you — a life gone, three total, and the rhythm keeps going without you. It feels unfair at first, then it clicks: you stop reading the notes and start feeling the gaps between them. The music gets faster, the notes pile up, and somewhere in there you lose track of your own thumbs. When it lines up, it's the closest a phone game gets to a real instrument. Then the double notes arrive.
