GoFiChat: Offline Chat & Games

Free, no ads, no purchases, no account. GoFiChat is a group chat with 17 games for the friends you're with, and it needs no internet. Phones connect directly over Bluetooth, and over Wi-Fi when you share a network or hotspot, so it works in airplane mode (with Bluetooth on), underground, at campsites, at festivals and on ferries. Chats and games never use your data. Android phones and iPhones join the same room, though an Android phone can't find a room on an iPhone in the background. HOW IT WORKS 1. Tap Start a room to get a QR code and a 6-digit code. 2. Friends scan the QR and come straight in, or type the code and you let them in. No accounts or phone numbers. 3. Chat and play, up to 8 people per room. Next time you're together, open the room again and everyone's back in with one tap. Install it before you lose signal: downloading needs internet, using it doesn't. CHAT Group messages, photos with captions (up to 5 at a time), voice messages you hold the mic to record, stickers, replies, reactions and typing indicators. Delete a message you sent by mistake, and keep chatting from inside a game. Bluetooth reaches about 10 to 30 metres, and another phone in the room can pass messages along for a friend a little farther away. Walk out of range and your seat is kept for three minutes: what you type waits, and the chat catches you up when you're back. If the person who started the room leaves, the room carries on. With Bluetooth on, you stay in the room while your phone is locked, and new messages arrive as notifications. An iPhone running the room should keep GoFiChat open while friends join or come back, since in the background it's harder for other phones to find. 17 GAMES Party games for the whole group: Odd One Out, Quiz, and Draw and Guess. Then Crazy Eights, Gumblox, Pool, Mini Golf, Bowling, Air Hockey, Table Tennis, Darts, Chess, Sea Battle, Four in a Row, Dots and Boxes, Memory and Reversi. Pick a game in the chat and whoever wants to play taps Join. In Odd One Out everyone gets the same secret word except one person, and the group talks it out, or types clues when you're sitting apart. In Draw and Guess one phone draws and the others guess on theirs. Both can use your room's own words. In Crazy Eights each phone shows only its own hand. Gumblox is a two-minute block-popping race where everyone gets the same pieces. Air hockey and table tennis are played live. The room keeps score: everyone's wins, and a board of the day's points. FRIENDS NEARBY Add the people you play with as friends. When you're close by with GoFiChat open, you see each other on the home screen, and one tap opens the room you had with them, or starts one, and asks them in. Their invites reach you anywhere in the app, or wait on the home screen while you're in a room with others. Only your friends' phones can tell it's you. PRIVATE AND SAFE BY DESIGN Every connection is encrypted (X25519 and ChaCha20-Poly1305) with keys made on the phones for that room, so only people in the room can read what's sent. Messages never go through a server, and there's no sign-up. Nobody new gets into your room without your QR code, your link or your say-so. Report or block anyone from their name or one of their messages, in the room or its saved chat. We act on every report within 24 hours. On iPhone, a photo your phone's Sensitive Content Warnings flag stays blurred until you choose to see it. ON YOUR OWN No one around?
