Place a stone so it brackets your opponent's line between your own, and every stone in between flips to your color. If a square flips nothing, you cannot play there; when you have no legal move, your turn passes. The game ends when the board fills or neither side can move, and whoever holds more stones wins. Corners can never be flipped, which makes them the decisive squares. Flipping the most stones on a single move is rarely the strongest play; limiting where your opponent can go usually matters more.
