Pigments is a color identifier built for painters. Point your camera at a color, pick one from a photo, or type a CI code, and Pigments shows you the real artist pigments behind it: what each one is made of, whether it lasts, and whether it is safe to handle. Most paint apps sort color by brand. Pigments reads the color in Lab color space and ranks the closest pigments by Delta E, so you see how near each match really is. Calibrate on a white card for better accuracy. You can also pull the dominant colors from any photo and get the nearest pigments for each one. It is a paint color match for artist colors, not for wall paint. SCAN A PAINT TUBE Point the camera at a tube label and Pigments reads the CI codes printed on it, then opens each pigment so you know what you are buying. PAINT MIXING BEFORE YOU BUY Pick two pigments and see where the mix travels as you change the proportion. Pigments accounts for tinting strength, so a strong pigment takes over the mix the way it does on your palette, and the result carries the lightfastness and toxicity of its weakest component. PALETTES YOU CAN TRUST Build a limited palette for a project and Pigments audits it: fugitive pigments, toxic materials and duplicates hiding under different names are flagged, with a safer or more permanent alternative where one exists. Fixed a crash that could happen while buying or restoring a purchase if your connection dropped and came back. On devices that don't support Google Play purchases, the app now carries on normally and no longer reports an error.
