makeWego

makeWego is a mobility platform that helps passengers in Ghana check a driver's details before boarding, compare transport fares reported by other commuters, track what they spend on transport, keep a record of their rides, facilitate recovery of items left in vehicles and send an SOS alert if something goes wrong. The app connects passengers and drivers, including drivers who own their vehicles, on one platform for driver verification, fare information, item recovery, ride records and safety tools. Ride Verification Scan a driver's makeWego QR code before you board to see their profile photo, vehicle details and current verification status. Camera access is needed to scan codes, and the location where you scan is saved with that ride record. Driver Verification Status Drivers submit identity and vehicle details, which makeWego reviews. A driver's profile shows which verification checks have been completed. Verification status is not a guarantee of a driver's conduct or of your safety, so please continue to use your own judgement. Driver Reputation Drivers build a reputation record from activity on makeWego, including passenger likes, time verified, repeat passengers, photo match feedback, lost item outcomes and incident reports. Drivers can appeal an incident report, and makeWego reviews the appeal. Reputation is based on passenger feedback and reports, which may be incomplete, and is not a guarantee of a driver's conduct or of your safety. Vehicle owners may consider it when hiring drivers. Fare Information View fares that drivers and commuters have reported for bus and trotro, taxi, tricycle and ride-hailing trips, and add the fares you pay. Fares are user-submitted and are not official or regulated prices. Actual fares may differ. If you choose to check fares near you, the app takes a single location reading. Transport Spending Tracker Record what you spend on transport, view your spending over time and use your ride history and fare information to plan daily, weekly and monthly transport budgets. Ride History Your saved rides keep key trip details in your account, such as the date, driver, vehicle and scan location, so you can refer back to them and track your spending. Lost Item Reports Left something in a vehicle? Report it against a saved ride. makeWego notifies the driver and helps you get in touch. Recovery of items is not guaranteed. Emergency SOS Send an SOS alert that shares your location and most recent ride details with the makeWego Support team. If your emergency contact uses makeWego, they also receive the alert in the app. If they do not, no alert is sent to them, but you can choose to call them directly. Your location is updated about every five minutes while makeWego is open on your screen, and updates stop when you leave or close the app. SOS requires location permission and an internet connection. It does not contact the police, ambulance or fire service. In a life-threatening emergency, call 112. For Drivers - Register and verify your identity - Add and verify your vehicle details - Activate your vehicle with a unique makeWego QR code - Let passengers check your profile before boarding - Respond to lost item reports - See how many times passengers have scanned your QR code, without seeing who scanned it - Search and contribute fare information - Build a record of verified activity over time For Drivers Who Own Their Vehicles If you are tagged as the owner of a vehicle, you can view the verification details and activity history of other drivers operating that vehicle to help you make informed decisions. Availability makeWego is designed for Ghana. Driver verification, fare information and other features currently cover Ghana only. An account is required to use most features. makeWego is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency, transport union or ride-hailing company.
