Metamorphosis: Inner Journey

Metamorphosis is a game of self-exploration. You bring a question, a problem or an unclear feeling — and an AI game director leads you through five spheres of your life until you find an answer you recognise as your own. THE GAME'S STORY Metamorphosis was created in 2016 by psychologist Kateryna Lysenko, PhD, as a psychological transformation board game, played in a group with a facilitator. Now it is a mobile app, and an AI game director takes the facilitator's place. FIVE SPHERES Body, activity, relationships, meaning and emotions. The game moves between them as your story asks, and a butterfly shows how far each sphere is explored. The metamorphosis happens only when all five are explored and you confirm the answer yourself. TECHNIQUES, NOT LECTURES The game works with your own words. A mirror gives back what you said. A mask asks what your habits protect. Polarity holds two things that matter at once. Resonance, gates, resources and insights mark the turns of the way. TWELVE ARCHETYPES The Great Mother, the Sage, the Hero, the Shadow, the Trickster and others step in with their own question — images to look through, never labels for you. METAPHORICAL CARDS At the right moment a card comes from a deck of 48 illustrated cards, with five gentle questions: what you see, what you feel, what story it tells, what it echoes in your life, what you take from it. Every question can be skipped. ANCIENT WISDOM Stuck on a question? Show answer options, or ask for a hint from ancient wisdom: a short parable chosen for that question, to think with. It never tells you what to answer. PAUSE AND BREATHE Pause any time — the game waits on the same question. Meditations are one tap away and keep playing with the screen off.
